Got Juice?! ๐น
A sugar beet facility was struggling with butterfly control valves on their โjuice linesโ. As this sugar water contained sand from the beet-washing process, the butterfly valves required replacement every ๐ฏ ๐บ๐ผ๐ป๐๐ต๐.
The butterfly discs also accelerated the abrasive fluid toward their pipe walls, resulting in erosion and eventual failure. The costs associated with labour, replacement valves, downtime, and lost production were significant.
With an analysis of the process conditions and modulating history, SAF's engineering team developed a unique SlurryFlo Control Valve for these applications. After retrofitting each application, the client quickly observed a quantum leap in wear performance.
The photos below were provided by our client, who was pleased to show their โbefore and afterโ comparison. Upon ๐ญ๐ด ๐บ๐ผ๐ป๐๐ต๐ of service, they observed ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ผ ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฟ to the SlurryFlo Control Valves, and their downstream piping was in excellent condition.
Due to our patented design, only the trim components are exposed to erosive flow. Once they do eventually wear down, the parts can be replaced on-site, resetting the service life clock. A quick trim replacement essentially provides the client with a new valve at a fraction of the cost.
It'll be a while before maintenance is requiredโฆ the ROI will be fantastic! ๐
