High-Density Hydro! ๐ช
RheEnergise is innovating the worldโs dominant form of storage: pumped hydro storage. They call their solution High-Density Hydroยฎ, which uses a proprietary HD Fluid (R-19) that has 2.5x the density of water. This slurry is environmentally benign, non-toxic, non-corrosive, and non-reactive.
R-19 gives RheEnergise projects 2.5x the power and 2.5x the energy compared to water. Unlike traditional pumped hydro energy storage, HD Hydro can use lower vertical elevations (hills instead of mountains), opening significantly more options for potential sites.
During their successful pilot stage, RheEnergise selected SAF to design and produce an Oreacle TSX knife gate valve for their flow loop (pictured at top of loop). Our heavy-duty Oreacle valves are designed for abrasive slurry, allowing RheEnergise to operate without issue during long-duration testing.
