SAFโs standard red epoxy has been substituted with polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), a special fluoropolymer thatโs sprayed on and then baked in an oven to achieve a durable finish.
This advanced coating is available for most SAF valve bodies and other components, which:
- Provides corrosion protection and prevents vapour permeation.
- Offers lubricity and reduces sliding friction.
- Withstands higher temperatures compared to typical epoxy.
- Minimizes media buildup and simplifies maintenance.
Typical slurry valves do not benefit from these coatings, as their valve bodies are often indirect contact with the slurry. No matter the coating quality, itโll quickly wear off.
However, our SlurryFlo and Oreacle valves feature bodies that are protected from the process media. This allows the PTFE coating to remain intact much longer, providing ongoing protection and non-stick performance.
