SAF designs and manufactures heavy-duty orifice plates for fixed flow restriction and pressure reduction. When installed downstream of any control valve in high ฮP applications, RocketPlates share the pressure drop, provide back pressure to the valve, and minimize noise and cavitation.
There are no โoff-the-shelf โ RocketPlates. Using complex CFD analysis, SAF engineers develop unique orifice geometries and select premium materials for maximum performance. The orifice can be concentric, eccentric, or segmented, and the size/shape of the opening is based on process data and customer requirements.
Our sintered wear components (darker component w/ orifice below) are made from a proprietary blend of tungsten carbide, with a grain size of 1-3 micron, HRA hardness of 89, and compressive strength of 490,000 PSI. We also use an elevated amount of Nickel for our binder, which provides excellent corrosion resistance and increased toughness.
