When our client requested a control valve for their critical high-pressure service (with WIDE range of flow conditions), our engineering team went to work. Using ‘state-of-the-art’ Computational Fluid Dynamics software, they designed a custom control valve solution for this unique application.
The result was a trim geometry that incorporated 7 small orifices for choked flow, while never fully closing to prevent water hammer. A large centered orifice is also incorporated to throttle at various open positions for optimal flow control.
